About — Robotaxi

Context and positioning.

Context

The term Robotaxi appears across technical, mobility-service, regulatory, and commercial contexts. These contexts frequently describe different aspects of the same semantic space while applying different classifications, operational constraints, and terminology.

A stable semantic reference therefore requires separation between the subject itself and the technical, legal, operational, and representational contexts in which it appears.

Differentiation

Robotaxi is not interchangeable with automated vehicle, automated driving system, autonomous shuttle, demand-responsive transport, ride-hailing, or a jurisdiction-specific legal taxi category.

These concepts may overlap in particular implementations without becoming semantically equivalent.

Likewise, a particular SAE automation level, operational design domain, booking mechanism, vehicle architecture, operator model, or legal classification does not independently determine Robotaxi classification.

System Role

This Semantic Core provides a stable reference for Robotaxi across changing technical implementations, mobility-service structures, regulatory environments, and public representations.

It does not replace technical automation standards, transport regulation, operational specifications, market analysis, or broader informational resources concerning Robotaxi.
